The RAILS nightclub under renovation.

We are presently renovating our nightclub in MIETO sim as it suffered damage during the last round of grid instability. Most of the objects on the server land were returned to our inventory.

We have asked the people at Linden Labs to investigate the problem and they were not able to do more than apologise to us. While we are great fans of this sparkling new world called Second Life we have also now learned that it is not one we can trust in to, "maintain our assets".

In this case, the asset they were not able to protect is the time labour involved in assembling and decorating the nightclub.

Going forward, we are planning to change the way we operate and build such that we are more reliant on our own systems to protect the SL assets. One way to do this is map out the structure of the nightclub into a drafting format. We have done this so if it happens again we can re-install the entire structure quickly.

It is also possible to script the entire structure of the nightclub into one object and have it rezz up on the land when we need it. More on this later.
